The head has different functions and structures for different extrusion processes (such as pressing, filtering, mixing, granulating, etc.). For the head of the press-type extruder, its main function is to change the rubber material from a helical motion to a linear motion; the rubber material in the barrel generates the necessary extrusion pressure before extrusion to ensure the semi-finished product extruded is dense and the plastic material is further plasticized evenly; the extruded semi-finished product is formed.
(1) Type of head
According to the structure of the head, there are core head and coreless head.
According to the relative position of the screw: straight head, right angle head and bevel head. According to the different uses of the machine head: inner tube head, tread head, cable head, etc. According to the size of the rubber material in the head: low-pressure head, medium-pressure head, high-pressure head.
(2) Structure of the machine head
The head structure of the rubber extruder is mainly divided into cylindrical, flat, T-shaped and Y-shaped.
A. Inner tube extrusion head (cylindrical)
Used to manufacture various hollow products, such as hoses, inner tubes, sealing strips, etc. The head of this structure is divided into adjustable mouth shape and adjustable core shape.
B. Tread extrusion head (flat)
Used to make tire treads. This head is divided into two types: integral and composite.
C. Wire and cable extruder head (T type and Y type)
Used to manufacture wire and cable insulation, tire travellers and hoses, etc. Its structure generally has two forms: right-angle head and bevel head.
